About Courtney

I was raised in Canton, Georgia in a Christian home and was actively involved in my church. I accepted Jesus as my Savior at age 8. Upon graduating high school, I attended Shorter University and majored in music education to pursue my lifelong dream of being a teacher.  During college I met my husband, Matthew, and we were shortly married after I graduated in May of 2015. We knew we wanted children, yet doctors told us that would never happen. Despite all the earthly doctor's odds, the Great Physician blessed me with the title of "Mom" to three children: Lee (6), Cooper (4), and Samantha (4).  In December of 2020, God called Matthew to preach, and in August of 2021, he began pastoring at Menlo First Baptist Church. Shortly after becoming pastor, God changed my heart from helping with children's ministry to women's ministry. However, I had no idea how to help ladies or anything about women's ministry. I prayed for guidance, and God sent me to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where I earned my master's degree in Ministry to Women.  Currently, I am the Women's Ministry Team Leader at Menlo First and on the Women's Ministry Team for the Chattooga Baptist Association. I teach a ladies Sunday School class and play the piano for Menlo First as well.

I am passionate about teaching the Bible, speaking/ singing at events, and writing devotionals.  I enjoy being with my family, going on vacation, reading, singing, and playing piano.
